According to SFGate.com:
At 1:30 a.m., after nearly four hours of public comment and debate, the Berkeley City council voted 7-2 to rescind its action two weeks ago directing the city clerk to send a letter to the Marines that they weren't welcome in the city.
At the same time, they managed to used this as a platform to express their liberal agenda:
They also criticized the government for what they said was hiding the horrors of the war behind a "support our troops" mantra.
In a separate vote, the council decided not to issue a public apology for its action last month.
Thanks, Berkeley for all your support!

Berkeley "activists" are maniacs - there's nothing to negotiate, they can't be shamed, just ridiculed, despised, even quaratined. I know it, I used to be a part of it.
Pull the marines out, cut their federal funding, and the next time a natural disaster hits Berkley tell them they're on their own. They don't want military in their town, right?
Here's AN idea....lol
