Grave of the British Soldiers
This stone memorializes the graves of two of the three soldiers who were kill at the North Bridge during the Battle of Concord on April 19, 1775. The quote is from a poem by James Russell Lowell, written in 1849: "They came three thousand miles, and died, To keep the Past upon its throne; Unheard, beyond the ocean tide, Their English mother made her moan."
